M2M application to collect data from NFC tags

 

A division of Toppan Printing has begun using NFC tags and phones in a field service and asset management system that integrates with Salesforce; allowing data gathered by technicians reading NFC tags in the field to be automatically posted back to the CRM system.

 

Music sharing through Android Beam

 

Music streaming service Spotify has added NFC support to the latest version of its Android app, allowing users to share music via NFC on devices running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and above.

 

Automobile's integration with NFC mobile phones

 

NFC software stack specialist Stollmann, automotive infotainment specialist Philips & Lite-On Digital Solutions (PLDS) and in-vehicle mobile communications specialist Funkwerk Dabendorf are going to offer a new "all-round carefree package" that allows NFC phones to be coupled with a vehicle's head unit, so that information from the phone can be displayed to the driver on the main vehicle display.

 

Social game with NFC enhancement

 

Social games giant Zynga has added NFC peer-to-peer mode support to the Android version of Zynga Poker. Android Beam is used to enable players with an NFC phone to invite a friend to join them at a live poker table.

 

Nintendo Wii U with NFC Support

 

The Nintendo Wii U games console, which includes support for NFC in its GamePad controller, will launch in the US on 18 November.
